Stavroulakis (1900-1979) fought as a volunteer on the Macedonian front during the First World War. He attended military academies and in 1940 fought on the Albanian front. During the German Occupation, he escaped to the Middle East and was discharged from the Army with the rank of colonel. C.I. Stavroulakis was an avid collector of historical and folklore material of Crete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He served for many years as President of the Historical and Folklore Society of Rethymnon, and in 1974, together with Fali G.
